This Set’s Big Idea
Jesus calls people to believe in the light, respond to God with genuine obedience, love Him wholeheartedly, give with sincere devotion, and live faithfully prepared for His return.
As you read, watch how Jesus speaks about His coming death, confronts empty claims of obedience, answers attempts to trap Him, identifies love for God and neighbor as the greatest commands, honors sacrificial giving, and teaches His disciples to remain ready and faithful.

This set takes place during the final days of Jesus’ public ministry. In John 12, Jesus explains that the hour of His glory has come through His death. Like a grain of wheat falling into the ground, He will give His life so that many may receive life. He calls people to walk in the light while they still have the opportunity, yet many continue to resist Him despite the signs they have seen.
As you read Matthew 21, Luke 20, Mark 12, and Matthew 25, pay attention to the difference between outward religion and genuine faithfulness. Jesus confronts those who speak obediently but refuse to follow God, exposes attempts to trap Him, and teaches that wholehearted love for God must overflow into love for others. He notices the widow whose small gift reveals deep trust, and He warns His disciples to remain watchful, prepared, and faithful with everything God has entrusted to them.
These passages invite us to move beyond religious appearances into sincere obedience. Jesus calls us to believe in Him, love God with our whole being, love our neighbors faithfully, give ourselves without seeking recognition, and live each day ready for His return.
