Devotional
One of the things that I take delight in are my children! With this being said, it doesn’t matter what I am doing with any of them, my heart is happy. I enjoy watching them play sports, sharing a meal with them, traveling with them, making s’mores around a campfire on a cool fall evening, my list is endless. Since I take delight in them, my heart is full as I spend time doing life with them, whatever they want to do, I’m there and am blessed.
When we delight in the Lord, our desires become aligned with His. This means that our hearts will seek what God desires, and those desires are the ones He will grant. Psalm 37:4 encourages us to find joy in our relationship with God, which transforms our hearts and aligns our desires with His will. This alignment leads to a life that is fulfilling and glorifying to God. By prioritizing our relationship with Him, we can trust that He will guide us and fulfill the desires that are in line with His perfect plan. And just like the desires of my heart (time with my children) are granted because I delight in my children, when we delight in God, we desire to be with Him more as well and He grants this desire of all hearts that want more of Him.
Bible Verse
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:4
