Luke 6:1–49
Jesus Teaches the Way of His Kingdom
A Guided Journey Through Scripture
UNDERSTANDING LUKE 6
Living as a Disciple of Jesus
Jesus continues revealing His authority as Lord of the Sabbath and chooses twelve apostles who will follow Him and help carry His message to others.
He then teaches His disciples what life in God’s kingdom looks like. Jesus challenges ordinary ideas about blessing, calls His followers to love their enemies, and teaches them to show mercy rather than judgment.
As you read, notice how Jesus connects the condition of a person’s heart with the way they live. He reminds us that genuine discipleship means more than simply hearing His words—it means putting them into practice.
Jesus calls His followers to live differently by loving others, showing mercy, and putting His teachings into practice.
