This devotion is based on the sermon: Pop Crazy or Kingdom Crazy
Devotional
What do you truly treasure? It’s a simple question, but one that cuts straight to the heart of our spiritual lives. Our possessions often reveal more about our priorities than we’d like to admit. When we look at our bank statements, calendars, and the ways we spend our energy, we get a clear picture of what we value most. Jesus understood this profound connection between our treasures and our hearts. He wasn’t against wealth itself, but He knew how easily material possessions can capture our devotion and pull us away from God. Today, take a moment to reflect on where your treasure truly lies. Are your priorities aligned with eternal values, or are they caught up in temporary things that won’t last?
Bible Verse
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven where moss and rust cannot destroy and thieves do not break in and steal.” – Matthew 6:19-24
Reflection Question
If someone were to examine your spending habits and time commitments over the past month, what would they conclude about what you value most?
Quote
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. In other words, when we find what we treasure, we find our heart.
Prayer
Lord, help me examine my heart honestly today. Show me where I’ve placed my treasure in temporary things rather than eternal values. Guide me to align my priorities with Your kingdom purposes. Amen.
