Scripture Reading
Luke 11:5-13
Devotional
Persistent prayer is a powerful act of faith. When we continually bring our needs and the needs of others before the Lord, we demonstrate our trust in His ability to act. Jesus encourages us to be persistent in our prayers, knowing that there is power in prayer not because of us, but because of the God to whom we pray. Choose one person this week to pray for daily, and watch how God moves in their life.
Bible Verse
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” – Luke 11:13
Reflection Question
Who will you commit to praying for persistently this week, and how can you make this a daily habit?
Quotes from Sermon
There’s power in prayer, not because of us, but because of the God in whom we pray to.
We pray for others when we want more for them than we can do for them.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be persistent in my prayers. Give me the faith to continually bring my needs and the needs of others before You, trusting in Your power to act. Amen.
