Explore clear answers to difficult questions about Mark, Jesus’ miracles, discipleship, the kingdom of God, the cross, resurrection, and how Mark points us to Christ.
Explore Mark Questions →What Mark Teaches
Jesus’ Authority
Mark reveals Jesus’ authority over sin, sickness, demons, nature, religion, and death.
The Servant-King
Jesus is the Son of God who came not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many.
Discipleship
Following Jesus means repentance, surrender, humility, faith, service, and taking up the cross.
The Cross and Resurrection
Mark moves steadily toward Jesus’ suffering, death, burial, and victorious resurrection.
What Mark Teaches Us About Jesus
Mark presents Jesus as the powerful and compassionate Son of God. He teaches with authority, heals the sick, casts out demons, calms storms, feeds crowds, restores the broken, and calls people to follow Him.
But Mark also makes clear that Jesus did not come merely to perform miracles or draw crowds. He came to suffer, serve, and give His life as a ransom for many. The cross is not a detour in Mark’s Gospel. It is the destination.
As you study Mark, do not stop with the miracles. Let Mark lead you to the crucified and risen Savior who calls sinners to repentance, faith, surrender, and new life.
